Looking for a countdown timer to prevent you toasting your clothes in the dryer or freezing soft-drink cans while you are "working" on your computer? Egg is an easy to use countdown timer, settable by second divisions from 1 second up to 45 days. While it features a compact window, common times are settable with only two clicks from a selection of 12 customisable times, and it can display up to four independent timers at once. It can have a beep or almost any standard audio file (including MP3s) for the "time-up" sound, either of which can be set to repeat. For the more demanding user, Egg offers several more advanced abilities, including variable transparency, font selection, foreground and background colour selection, auto repeating timers, keyboard shortcuts, "On-Top" window options, time-up warning, flash screen alarm and random alarm times. Egg can also be minimized to the System tray or the taskbar and controlled via its icon, and the window size can be varied to whatever size you want, including full screen, to allow you to see the count from across the room. All settings are saved for easy configuring. Command line options are also supported and Egg requires under 100KB of hard drive space. Egg is written in efficient Assembly Language.
