ComGuard will help you build reliable programs in a number of ways. During your development cycle, ComGuard monitors each compilation and allows you to: Create a snapshot (backup) of your current source and binary so you can keep the specific code base that created the binary, Backups the current component before VB overwrites it, Verify and correct Binary Compatibility settings, Warn you if the compatible component needs to be updated, One of the most important chores that ComGuard performs for you is compatibility model maintenance. ComGuard will let you know if the model needs to be updated. The failure to update the compatibility model after adding a public interface is one of the most common app killers there out there, Optionally update the compatible and release components, Automatically keep your Release folder up to date. ComGuard also supports the following functionality: Writes to a log each time you build your project. This gives you build history functionality. No UI for this in this release, Keep track of the time spent on each module in your project. In this initial version, only the total time is recorded and is shown in a raw form, View and compare any two typelib files (DLL, OCX, TLB, etc). Differences are counted and shown side by side, Generate a generic XML file that describes the structure of any typelib file, Optionally generates a "Verify Installation" class module and adds it to your project. You can use this class module to verify that all of your dependencies are registered correctly and are the correct version. The class template is included and stored as a plain text file so you can modify its functionality.
