The SocketWrench Secure Edition contains an ActiveX control for use in visual development tools such as Visual Basic and FoxPro. It also contains a dynamic link library (DLL) which can be used in a wide variety of programming languages, both those supported in Visual Studio as well as third-party languages and scripting tools. For C/C++ programmers, complete header files and class wrappers are also included with SocketWrench Secure. The .NET development platform supports the use of COM objects and unmanaged DLLs, which allows you to develop applications using SocketWrench Secure in .NET as well. The component can be used on 32-bit platforms such as Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Standard and secure (SSL) client and server capability is provided, as well as support for both TCP and UDP protocols and the complete Windows Sockets API. In addition, three standard security protocols are supported: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) versions 2.0 and 3.0, Private Communication Technology (PCT) version 1.0 and Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.0. Virtually any type of application which needs to communicate with another, either on a local network or over the Internet, can be written using the SocketWrench Secure Edition.
SocketWrench Secure Edition has been completely redesigned and implemented, taking advantage of our experience in building client and server components for the Windows platform. The interface has been significantly simplified, while retaining all of the features and functionality that developers expect.
The SocketWrench Secure Edition continues to provide the same advantages offered by previous versions. There are no runtime licensing fees, and there are no restrictions on the number of products which may be developed using SocketWrench Secure.
